01 / PURPOSE

Competitive energy. Human standards.

Element Esports wants a community where people can disagree, joke, compete, learn, and belong without harassment, exploitation, intimidation, or avoidable chaos. These standards tell members what is expected and give moderators a consistent way to educate, intervene, document, escalate, restrict, and review.

They apply to the official Discord, organization-controlled chats, moderated livestream chats, community events, voice channels, organization-related direct messages, and off-platform conduct only when it creates a meaningful safety, safeguarding, harassment, fraud, security, or participation risk.

02 / MEMBER RULES

Know the line before crossing it.

01

Respect the person

Disagreement and competitive banter are allowed. Repeated targeting, humiliation, baiting, dogpiling, intimidation, and personal campaigns are not.

02

No harassment

Do not bully, stalk, evade blocks, coordinate harassment, sexually harass, pressure, or repeatedly contact someone after they ask you to stop.

03

No hateful conduct

Slurs, hateful symbols, dehumanizing claims, discriminatory attacks, and advocacy of hostility or violence are prohibited.

04

No threats or doxxing

Do not threaten harm, hacking, swatting, exposure, or reputational sabotage. Never publish or solicit another person’s private information.

05

Protect minors

Sexual content, sexual solicitation, grooming, exploitation, and adult-minor sexual interaction are prohibited throughout this mixed-age community.

06

Avoid harmful content

Do not glorify self-harm, dangerous conduct, gore, animal cruelty, or real-world violence. Credible immediate danger must be escalated.

07

Do not disrupt

Spam, raids, flooding, mass mentions, malicious automation, disruptive audio, and deliberate interference with channels or events are prohibited.

08

Protect accounts

No phishing, malware, credential requests, token theft, account compromise, deceptive giveaways, fraud, or harmful impersonation.

09

Compete honestly

Do not distribute cheats, arrange match manipulation, sell boosting schemes, facilitate illegal gambling, or undermine tournament integrity.

10

Use the right channel

Keep discussion relevant, accept reasonable redirection, avoid dominating the space, and follow voice, event, promotion, and recording rules.

11

Do not evade action

Alternate accounts, intermediaries, or other servers may not be used to bypass blocks, timeouts, restrictions, suspensions, or bans.

12

Report in good faith

No retaliation, coordinated false reports, fabricated evidence, or public pressure campaigns. An unsubstantiated report is not automatically false.

Platform rules still apply

Discord and every other platform retain independent authority. Element Esports may set a stricter local standard; the stricter valid safety or conduct rule controls.

03 / MODERATOR CODE

Authority is a position of trust.

Moderators are stewards of the space, not owners of its members. Their job is to stop harm, restore useful participation, document material decisions, and escalate matters that exceed their role.

  • Model the standards publicly and privately; staff status never excuses the same conduct being enforced.
  • Use authority only for a legitimate community purpose—not to win arguments, punish criticism, favor friends, or settle personal disputes.
  • Give calm, clear directions and move detailed disputes out of public chat instead of humiliating someone.
  • Preserve message links, IDs, timestamps, context, and relevant evidence before deletion or bans when practical.
  • Disclose personal conflicts, recuse when appropriate, and send uncertain or serious cases to the next qualified level.
  • Protect reports, witnesses, minors, subjects, and staff deliberations on a need-to-know basis.
  • Record material actions accurately, report mistakes, and accept review without retaliation or defensiveness.

04 / ENFORCEMENT

Proportionate, not automatic.

The ladder supports consistency without guaranteeing repeated chances. Moderators may skip levels when severity, safety, safeguarding, evidence preservation, platform duties, or a credible pattern requires stronger immediate action.

LEVEL 00

Redirection

Move or remove low-risk content, slow a channel, or give a general reminder without a formal finding.

LEVEL 01

Informal reminder

Explain the rule and expected correction for a minor, isolated, readily corrected issue.

LEVEL 02

Formal warning

Document the conduct, applicable rule, required change, and consequence of recurrence.

LEVEL 03

Timeout or restriction

Temporarily limit messaging, voice, media, links, events, or channel access to stop harm and permit review.

LEVEL 04

Temporary suspension

Remove community access for a defined period and identify reasonable return conditions when appropriate.

LEVEL 05

Permanent ban or referral

Remove access indefinitely and route any related member, staff, platform, safeguarding, or external matter properly.

05 / SEVERITY

Match the action to the risk.

Low

Correct and redirect.

Channel misuse, accidental flooding, ordinary rudeness, or a first readily corrected disruption normally begins at Level 0 or 1.

Moderate

Document the pattern.

Repeated disruption, targeted insults, unwanted promotion, lower-level harassment, refusal of direction, or recurrence normally calls for Level 2 or 3.

High

Restrict and review.

Harassment patterns, discriminatory abuse, doxxing attempts, sexual harassment, raids, scams, evasion, retaliation, or serious impersonation may require Level 3 through 5.

Critical

Protect and escalate.

Threats, swatting, grooming, child exploitation, imminent self-harm danger, severe doxxing, account compromise, or violent extremist activity bypass lower steps.

06 / RESPONSE PROCESS

Stop. Save. Sort. Escalate.

  1. StabilizeStop active harm, separate participants, slow or lock the channel, and apply a temporary restriction when needed.
  2. PreserveCapture message links, account and channel IDs, timestamps, context, screenshots, and attachments before removal when practical.
  3. ClassifyIdentify the rule, severity, immediate danger, minor involvement, repeat history, and platform-reporting need.
  4. Check authorityAct within assigned permissions and step aside when personally involved or materially conflicted.
  5. NotifyGive a concise instruction or action notice unless notice would create danger, destroy evidence, or expose a protected person.
  6. Record and follow upDocument material action, escalate through the org chart, verify restrictions, and monitor return conditions or retaliation risk.

07 / APPEALS

Review without relitigating in public.

A directly affected person may submit one written appeal within 14 calendar days of a formal warning, restriction, suspension, or ban. The appeal should identify factual error, missing context, mistaken identity, inconsistent application, conflict of interest, procedural defect, new evidence, or a clearly disproportionate result.

An uninvolved Senior Moderator, Moderation Team Lead, Community Department Head, or designated leader should review the appeal when practical. Safety restrictions may remain during review. Detailed cases, reports, and staff deliberations remain need-to-know.

08 / MODERATOR TOOLS

The complete operational packet.

The PDF includes the full 30-section standard plus a quick-action card, moderation action record, appeal intake record, and moderator acknowledgment. It also defines when cases must move to the Senior Moderator, Moderation Team Lead, Community Department Head, Management, Ownership, Discord, or an appropriate external authority.

Do not conduct vigilante investigations

Suspected grooming, child exploitation, credible threats, swatting, severe doxxing, violent extremism, or active account compromise requires preservation, protective action, and proper escalation—not amateur entrapment, confrontation, or redistribution of harmful material.
